bad idea
This is a photo of an artist's rendering of the idea for a new tourist attraction to be built at the Grand Canyon. Maybe you can't tell from the drawing, but the thing has a glass bottom and sides.
All I can say is...NO FREAKING WAY would I walk out on that. No way. Just looking at the photo gives me a sick feeling.
Also, I have a friend who does risk analysis for a living and I want to ask him how in the world they could ever get this thing insured.

I doubt it is glass. it is probably lexan or something that is extremely strong yet clear. they have had glass bottom boats in florida for years and I have never heard of an accident.
I guess I didn't mean literally glass -- but see through material.

which is probably as strong or stronger than opaque materials.
I am just freaked out at the idea of seeing thru the glass...not so much worried about the strength.
I'm a wuss about heights.

I would imagine very few people would be game for this. its not that I am not quite certain its perfectly safe but I imagine alot of people would freak out at just feeling so exposed up in the air.
