Last Mother's Day, I had an essay in the New York Times, and until now, you had to pay to read it online in the NYT archives, but someone just e-mailed me to point out that some advocacy site that can't spell "Courts" has apparently gotten permission to run it in its entirety, so now you can read it online, here

My stomach hurts just from reading this...I can't imagine how hard this has been Has there been any resolution yet?
Do you still have to deal with your ex doing this type of stuff or is it pretty much settled?!
I wouldn't know how to deal with something like that...I think you did great with what you have been given to handle! What a jerk....sorry had to say it!
For the record - at least until this comment is deleted - the events described in the story are fictional. Yes, it's true Katie is divorced and TN requires parenting classes as part of that process. The facts pretty much ends there. How do I know? Because I was there. For someone who considers herself a loving and considerate mother writing stuff like that just doesn't add up - even it were true, imho. That piece is an attack by the writer on the emotional well being of her own family.
Now, off to my Mens Empowerment Coalition Meeting!

Everything in my essay is true. Most of it is (unfortunately) public record via my divorce file at the county courthouse.
