betsy's theory

My sister has decided that I am only attracted to men who are completely unsuitable for me. She thinks I lose interest in men who are "too nice." Now she wants me to seek out Baptist preachers who listen to Kenny G. (or Jimmy Buffett --SHUDDER--) or something. She's sort of on my case about it.

I have a lifelong pettern (pattern) of only being attracted to men who are completely unsuitable for me

Who doesn't?

See, now that's what I keep telling her!

"Who doesn't have that pattern?"

A lot of us certainly do..but some people do manage to break the cycle of self-destructive behavior. Course it takes a lot of work and isn't so fun and causes a lot of pain, but I do see people who manage to create new patterns for themselves and, even, gasp, healthier relationships..

Dammit, I hate those people :) !!

Now look, I have to weigh in here - no WAY can you put Kenny G in the same category of awfulness as Jimmy Buffet. No way. Kenny G is evil (he may be a minion of the Devil). He and Michael Bolton belong in a pit (with Celine Dion, and a few other of the worst-ever "artists"). Kenny G's music is related to Yanni's for crying out loud! You may dislike Jimmy B (what. ever.), but come on, there's no way his stuff is as relentlessly painfully, excruciatingly un-listenable as Kenny G's. And you can't even play the "what it represents" card here - Kenny G is the worst sort of bachelor-pad, "Smooooooth Jazzzz" drek, and he looks ridiculous (almost, but not quite, as ridiculous as Michael Bolton). Just no way you can put those two in the same sentence. I must protest.

Oh, and never listen to what your siblings tell you about relationships. They are always right, which makes it insuffereable.

How's the search for a more suitable guy going, Katie?

Leave JB alone- he admits he's not a "musician" just a guy looking for a party and trying to tell a story - in 3 to 5 minutes.

I am sorry to have offended the JB fans out there ... It's become sort of a running joke on the blog that's taken on a life of its own.

Isn't anyone gonna stand up and be counted for Kenny G?

;-)

Not a JB fan - just saying that no matter how much you dislike him, you can't possibly compare him to Kenny G.

You think even anonymous posters would come to the defense of Kenny G?
