savage on santorum

Brutally funny columnist Dan Savage has long waged a media war against his least fave Senator, Rick Santorum. Now he's REVELING IN HIS DEFEAT.

A snippet:

"If Santorum had spent the last 12 years in the Senate being the person he was for 12 minutes during his concession speech, well, he might not have made so many enemies in Pennsylvania and all over the country."

I've always found Dan Savage hilarious, even when he does fabulously bizarro things like try to derail Gary Bauer's 2000 presidential bid by spreading the flu throughout his campaign headquarters. How did Savage do this? Well, he "volunteered" for the campaign, and then when he himself had the flu, he went around surreptitiously LICKING STAPLERS AND DOORKNOBS all over the campaign office.

Uhh ... spreading the flu is NOT funny. What if someone had cancer and was on chemo? Or took it home to their elderly grandma? Or pregnant wife?

Lefties are so hateful!

Anonymous,
It sounds like it was a joke darling. You're a cheerless human being.

Get a life instead of trolling a blog you hate.

actually, it was no joke. savage wrote about it in a column. so, to clarify:

cheerful human being = spread the flu to those with whom you disagree politically

cheerless human being = disagree with lefty

Would it be "hilarious" to run around leaving HIV infected blood all over the place? The flu kills more people every year than does AIDS. What great fun it would be to expose a bunch of people you disagree with to carcinogens too! Or tamper with the brakes on their car! Whee!

Dan Savage is either a complete and utter moron, or is devoid of any morality at all. Anyone that thinks his antics are amusing in the least needs to check their own moral compass too. But hey, what can you expect from the media these days? (Maybe Katie is trying out for a job with the NYT and has to prove her lack of ethics and morality?)

The first commenter was correct. This is yet another example of the hateful, morally depleted left. Dan Savage should be charged with intent to commit bodily injury of another for willfully inflicting a deadly illness.

Pelosi is making a mistake with the Murtha appointment to Majority Leader. Two years of that crap and the United States will elect another Republican president over Clinton or Gore, as they should if they don't want to go down the path of Che Guevara.

I find the whole "suddenly I can wax gracious" speeches the day after an election annoying. All that stuff I said before? Kidding. I was kidding. I'm really cool with these guys and they're awesome and I think they'll do a great job. Have a super day America; I'm off to throw ball with my son.
