courtney love's new year resolutions

As I've said before, I actually really like Courtney Love. These are apparently her NEW YEAR'S RESOLUTIONS. They sound pretty reasonable to me, although she needs an editor.

I already knew Courtney is also a horse show mother (her daughter Frances rides hunter ponies) and from her list, it looks like they are ready to trade up from a pony to a horse...

Courtney Love is a nutjob, new year's resolutions or not. And all this horse mom stuff is bunk. Do you want a medal for being fortunate enough to have the resources to let your daughter ride?

you know, I sort of agree with you other anonymous. Courtney Love is not only a nutjob, but very likely a murderess as well. They can never totally prove she killed Kurt Cobain but it is totally in the realm of possibility.
Its like if Katie has something in common with someone it sort of removes their flakiness? Like the woman in a month or so's posts ago that was the character in the Ann Rule book? I have that book and I reread it after Katies "review" and I just shook my head. Her extreme parenting, to me, seemed like just another part of her pathology.
Back to Courtney Love and the horses, I used to show hunters (yeah Katie, your anonymous poster you like to laugh at is another horse person) and I have always said I have never met so many cool people yet at the same time so many truly fucked up people as I did in the horse world. Anyone ever read Tami Hoag's "Dark Horse"...definately a good view of the screwed up lives of many (not all) horse people. Personally I quit the showing because it was a fantastic waste of money when all I really wanted to do was trail ride. I also, as an adult with responsibilities towards other people, find that almost all the fatalities and paralysis in the horse world revolve around jumping and I just dont want to do that. I dont need to "prove" that I can do something brave (and stupid) anymore. I was reading about some event rider that was paralyzed in an accident earlier this year and she is still rah rah for the sport and wanting someone else to continue to show her horse for her while she directs from her wheelchair. HELLO: how about waking up to the fact (esp after the whole Christopher Reeve thing) that this is a VERY dangerous sport. Of course I also know of bikers who will find ways to continue to ride motorcycles even after they have been seriously injured in a bike accident....go figure....
