i am trying to break your heart

Finally saw this movie too (catching up this week on movies I've been meaning to see but haven't).

Mostly it's full of good music, but also gives a very interesting glimpse into the record-making process. I'd be happy to watch/listen to Jeff Tweedy sing the phone book for two hours straight,so I liked it a lot. The person I saw it with -- a musician himself and less of a Wilco fan than I am -- found it a bit tedious.

Do you remember Suhail Luka - Egyptian cell bio grad student, played drums and oud at my birthday party when I lived The Old Southern Manor Which is Not Old, Southern, or a Manor? Anyway, he did a thoroughly captivating phonebook reading once at open mike night at the Torch.

Funny you should mention this - I got the DVD for Christmas and I have watched it like 80 times so far, including a couple of times yesterday. Jay Bennett was always an integral part of Wilco's sound (check his instrumental credits on Summerteeth), but I never realized what a whiny, needy little twit he is. Great movie, and the DVD has lots of cool bonus stuff. I particularly like the bits with Wilco playing live in their loft and rehearsing for their tour.

I can never see any of the bonus features on DVDs because I lost my remote and have no idea how to navigate around a DVD other tan just watching "PLAY" straight through.

The bonus features are are a seperate disc, so no need for the remote.
