I don't want to sell anything, buy anything, or process anything as a career. I don't want to sell anything bought or processed, or buy anything sold or processed, or process anything sold, bought, or processed, or repair anything sold, bought, or processed. You know, as a career, I don't want to do that.

What does this have to do with being prolife?
Well . . . except that the "rhythm method" is NOT the only method of birth control endorsed by the Catholic Church. Preferred is "Natural Family Planning," especially the Sympto-Thermal method, which is quite scientific and relies on basal temperaturs and daily observations of the cervix and cervical mucus. If you are using it correctly, you won't be having intercourse at any time when there is an egg around to fertilize, so what the article describes would be vanishingly unlikely to occur. The "rhythm method," which relies on the calendar and is ineffective due to variations among women and to variations in any one woman's cycle length, is no longer recommended.
...that it's nature?
Exactly what Leslie said. As a Catholic NFP mama, I think the study is kind of farfetched, not to mention without evidence. Does he ever prove that embryos were really fertilized and then lost? Real NFP truly prevents conception and it is much easier and more respectful of the woman`s body than all the other methods. The main method that works for me as a NFP mom is extended breastfeeding, I`m sure just to start a fight somebody will decide that kills a bunch of embryos too.

That and somebody with too much time on his hands.
Here http://www.americanpapist.com/2006/05/is-rhythm-method-only-method-of-birth.html is an excellent rebuttal that pokes all kinds of holes in the original "study." The study without any evidence.
I just couldn't keep my mouth from hanging open when I read this one - E-gads - was this "study" sponsored by Trojan? Has the world gone mad?
Well, here's one response from a pro-lifer: if the couple has abstained from intercourse and no sperm or egg unite, how could this result in "embryo death" - hey! no embryo Buddy. And where are the stats from a study professing such utter rubbish? Where in the world do these people get their medical/scientific degrees..Kinko's?
I agree with all the comments so far - felt a little ranting was in order. Best Regards, KLC.
