My mother sent me this photo of me, at about age 9 or 10. This is me with a Jersey heifer I won in an essay contest sponsored by Duck River Electric Cooperative. I had to write an essay about why I thought I deserved a Jersey calf. And I won. Her name was Bonnie and this is Bonnie winning a trophy at the 4-H Fair. I still have the trophy (note golden cow). I no longer have those wonderful glasses, though I wish I did.
My sister entered the same contest the next year and won her own Ayreshire heifer, whom she named Charlotte.

So, why did you deserve this cow? Don't leave us hanging....
Honestly, I can't recall. I really wish I still had the essay.
One funny thing is that I didn't tell my parents I had entered it until I told them I had won a cow and we needed to go pick her up ;-)
My brother once signed us up to have German exchange student stay with us for ayear without informing my parents. It all turned out fine, though. We loved the kid.
That's the funniest picture I've ever seen
I love Jersy cows. When I lived in New Zealand, I had a pet Jersy/Ayshire mix cow that lived on my uncle's dairy farm. She would actually let me ride her around the pastures.
I'm LOL at this because although I don't think you look 9 or 10 now, and I don't think you look like an adult in the cow picture, I don't think you've changed that much!
