rosie o' donnell

I really like Rosie. She's mouthy and fat and gay and unapologetic. SHe's also passionate about being a mother to her four children.

There would be fewer wars if more American women were like Rosie.

And THIS BLOG has it right about why she scares the hell out of people.

My only problem with Rosie was that she joked about circing her adopted son on late night TV and wouldn`t let her partner breastfeed b/c she was "jealous."

Other than that, I`m sure she`s pretty cool.

I want to like Rosie, but she needs a clue about breastfeeding AND circ, as anonymous said.

Since when has Rosie O'Donnell become hated? Wasn't it just a few years back that she was one of the most beloved personalities around?

I don't think too many people are too frightened of her, otherwise she would not have gotten her own show, her own magazine and now this, another gig on another show.

people generally accept obnoxiousness if they agree with people and hate it if they dont. I am sure the npr listening crowd (as this blog puts it) hates loud obnoxious conservatives. its harder to dismiss someone if they are actually very likable but if they are loud and obnoxious AND you dont like where they are coming from that just seals it.
I dont think a lot of people are taking up serious brain space thinking about Rosie O Donnell. I know I'm not.

I liked Rosie well enough before her love of circing and loathing of breastfeeding. Now she just makes me yawn.

Well that's disappointing. I had no idea she was antibreastfeeding/pro-circ.

Wow. Thanks very much for the plug.

All those anonymous comments...are they normal for you?

And what is "circing"? I can't find it on dictionary.com. Is it circumcizing?

Again, thanks.

yes..few of katie's readers have grasped the concept of a blog 'community', preferring instead to participate anonymously. it's even more fun when they start fighting amongst themselves while trying to figure out which anon is which.

I don't have to grasp the concept of a blog community. Somebody puts up a blog and I feel free to comment. If they don't want anonymous comments, they can block 'em.
And why does just calling yourself "Britney" make you not anonymous? Why don't you post your full name and email addy if you want 'community.' Is Britney even your real name?

Being anonymous is no problem. My point is just that it helps to give yourself a consistent pseudonym as an online "persona" - esp. if you post regularly to a blog. That way readers know which anon is which during conversations. That's all. The way it is now it is difficult to follow conversations in the comments because so many people post as "anonymous."
