breastfeeding can break cycle of diabetes

Read all about it in this new STUDY FROM HARVARD'S SCHOOL OF PUBLIC HEALTH.

This study also finds a convincing link between lack of breastfeeding and childhood obesity. I have to say, however, that it hardly takes a Harvard study to point out that exclusively breastfed babies - all other factors being equal - are less likely to become fat children.

if this is true then my high school, circa 1970s should have been populated by blimpa and blimpetta instead of all the too skinny to be real girls that were around. if this were true, childhood obesity rates (in an age where breastfeeding is more popular then it ever has been since the invention of formula) would not be soaring well above the previous couple of (bottlefed) generations.
I think there is a lot of other lifestyle issues traveling along with the infant feeding that are far more significant that the breast milk.
perhaps the concern about obesity might be better aimed at getting public schools (which is where the non elite send their kids Katie and maybe the elite are more likely to breastfeed...DUH) to stop cutting PE and recess. because you know, teaching the kiddies how to put condoms on bananas is FAR more important than something as mundane as PE. perhaps it might be in encouraging non competitive physical activity.
perhaps it might be in addressing the emotionally hungry children from broken and otherwise dysfunctional families who are stuffing their faces because they are hurting.
however, I think breastmilk is the least of it. and as always you are tunnel vision on this one stupid issue all the while ignoring the obvious.

Hey anon- Master of missing the obvious - I never said breastfeeding was THE ONLY factor influencing childhood obesity. It's one of many.

Duh.

one of many eh? you wouldnt get that from the way you describe it. and theres a HUGE difference btw between cause and effect and mere correlation. or didnt you ever take statistics?
