Here's an interesting tale about how one woman became accidentally pregnant

Heh.

She talked about trying her own version of the morning-after pill, but what about an abortion? I'd be worried about birthing a kid who got a big dose of mare urine in her before she was 3 days old. Obviously she didn't want this guy's baby! Why not do the right thing and abort the pregnancy?

Greetings...from "the woman."

I find it interesting that you call aborting "doing the right thing" -- the right thing for whom? For me? For the child? Why, in your opinion, would that have been the right thing?

For what it's worth, I seriously considered abortion, but quickly realized that it was something that would torment me. That said, I can't even begin to say how thankful I am that abortion was an option. My daughter isn't, nor will she ever be, something that was forced into my life. She was a choice...one I had the opportunity to make freely.

So, sorry, Allison, I was letting my own personal experience get in the way and I apologize. I felt bad after I wrote that. But then again, you are putting your personal life out there on a blog for all to comment on...
I thought it would be the right thing because if you tried to get rid of the baby right away, you must not have wanted her.
I don't think it's good for mom, baby, or society at large for kids to be born to parents who aren't ready, didn't want them, aren't in a relationship. And you may vehemently disagree, but I don't think single motherhood is the best thing *in general* for any of those 3 groups either.
I would have been worried about birth defects from the initial abortion attempt too, and probably would have aborted.
I also have always had an absolute horror of having a kid with a worthless man who might inherit his tendencies.
Yes, I"m childless...and I've chosen abortion twice over unwanted kids.
I apologize again for extrapolationg my opinions as to the right thing onto everyone.
I'm sure you're a great mom.
