my fave christmas present this year...

...was the copy of "All the President's Men" signed by Bob Woodward that my mother gave me. Very cool gift.

What was your best present? Given or received?

I was surprised to get "America's Tet Kitchen Family Cookbook"! I adore that cooking show, and this is formatted in a similar way, but I was delighted most becauseI didn't expect to get anything, since my husband and I don't exchange.

My twelve-year-old daughter wrote a book called The Christmas Pony and made copies for me and for my husband. She dedicated it to her Grandmama who died unexpectedly just a couple of weeks ago. It is really special. It made me cry.

My best present was watching my little girl enjoy all her presents. I know, it sounds corny, but it is true... I am so blessed to have her and this is her 2nd Christmas and the 1st one she kind of got and enjoyed the concept!

The best gifts I gave were copies of the book Bad Cat. It was a joy to me to see and hear my friends busting a gut and sharing that hilarious book. (I think I bought almost every copy Carpe Librum had ~ and Christmas Eve morning I was feeling especially tender towards someone who is going trough a hard time ~ and I wrapped up my copy and placed it at his door and signed the tag "from Santa".)

There were two;

A food processor/chopper that also makes a damn fine banana chocolate milk shake (right in the mug, no less!) and a wooden ship model kit of the Cutty Sark that I may still be working on next Christmas.
