I'm Steve K., old friend o' Katie and Chris.

A little about myself:

I have one 5 year old son, I'm Uruguay's first astronaut, I'm an avid crytozoologist, and I'm currently building a new freezer to house my ever-expanding collection of infectious microorganisms.

I am Summer from Texas...
I came across you from reading I think Dr. Sears' website when I first had my son who is 19 months. And then I went off and bought your book attachment parenting. I thought it was great and it made me feel more assure that my feelings for the way I was raising my child were somewhat normal. Now I am expecting baby #2 and will probably read your book again when I get it back from a friend.
I don't always agree with everything you say...but who agrees with everyone in the first place. I find your blog entertaining and check on it often. I find a lot of things you write funny and think its funny that some of these people that don't like you will comment and get things all sirred up.
Anyway...keep up the good work...you are a great mommy!

I'm Paige La Grone Babcock, have some East Tennessee background and first knew of you through our mutual friend and sister of the pen, Tracy Jones. Forward many years later, and here we are at our respective posts, the writing life and otherwise. I'm within days (or weeks?) of being a first time mother and am (as needed) consistently reinventing myself, my world, my work.

I check in on your blogsite regularly and enjoy it quite a bit.

Huzzah!

Adrienne Martini here. I know Katie because a) at one point we worked together at the same newspaper, which she came to through Coury and Hillari, who also knew (and gave freelance gigs to) Tracy Jones. Katie and I once shared an agent, who was also Spike's agent. Spike and I wrote for the same paper in Austin, once upon a time, and Spike is good friends with the aforementioned Coury and Hillari...

Ah, Knoxville. Incenstuous much?

Chiming in late (AND posting in the wrong thread originally to boot)...

Hi Katie!

I'm the SAHM of a fabulous 3 year old. I met you (briefly) at the LLL Area conference in Atlanta last April.

I loved the talk you gave at lunch, picked up your book on my way home and wound up here somehow.

As I said, I'm a SAHM, married to a work-at-home Dad. We are on the crunchy side of parenting as well, cloth diapering, co sleeping, extended breastfeeding, etc. I'm a LLL Leader and the Executive Director of ProMoM.Org and also blog pretty regularly over at Live Journal.

I don't comment much, but I do try to stop by here once every couple of days.

I'm a lifelong Knoxvillian, SAHM to five kids aged 10 months, 4, 10, 11, and 14.

I first heard about Katie because of her Attachment Parenting book, recommended to me by my little sister who is the founder of the Knoxville API chapter. I also know of Katie through k2k, which is where I think I got the link to this blog.

I am AP with my babies and toddlers, then tend to lose steam . . .
