Whether that was the actual reason, I have no idea.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9504620.post-3250413933559292982007-03-16T14:44:00.000+00:002007-03-16T14:44:00.000+00:00Someone I work with is adopting a baby from China ...Someone I work with is adopting a baby from China and it's already taken more than a year, and it's not over. Even the wait for a "healthy, white newborn" in the states is often exaggerated -- a person could adopt domestically three times in five years, too. It depends a lot on how they do it.Dawnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04164833674841541784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9504620.post-81866261230418033912007-03-15T23:24:00.000+00:002007-03-15T23:24:00.000+00:00It's all been said above, but yeah, it's completel...It's all been said above, but yeah, it's completely possible. Especially since they've already done it once and have the routine down, although it's slightly different with every country (and depending on when the adoption takes place), and because coming up with funds for all the fees is obviously not a problem for the Jolie-Pitt family.Amyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09657323487823023425noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9504620.post-47035311981479098242007-03-15T22:04:00.000+00:002007-03-15T22:04:00.000+00:00It's completely possible and anyone could do it. W...It's completely possible and anyone could do it. While we have all heard horror stories of adoptions fr some countries that keep children languishing and families in limbo for years, it takes around a year [what seems to be Jolie's timetable] to adopt from many countries. Trust me, the adoption bureaucracies in other countries -- nor the immigration authorities in our country -- don't care WHO she is. The process is largely behind the scenes -- paperwork on the U.S. and the other govt's side -- until the end of the process in most countries, so it's quite easy to see how it could seem quick when all we hear about is picking the kids up at the end.

Been there, done that. Highly recommend it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9504620.post-1397499930071994182007-03-15T21:01:00.000+00:002007-03-15T21:01:00.000+00:00It really depends on lots of factors. Also depends on the age of child, so longer wait for infants. Plus, I read that the Jolie-Pitts started this process around the time that Shiloh was conceived, so that's been more than a year.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
